April 27, 20186 Ways to Socially Engage Your Physically Distant Employees
April 27, 2020We’re Celebrating!
Laura M. Labovich, Founder and CEO of The Career Strategy Group, graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program (10KSB) in December 2018.
Labovich and her 39 classmates in Baltimore’s Cohort 5 were chosen from a large pool of applicants for this competitive program. The program handpicks a small group of successful companies and founders to participate in an intensive four-month initiative aimed at creating jobs and economic opportunity.
The 10KSB program, launched in 2009 by Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation, is based at Babson College in Wellesley. The goal of the program is to aid 10,000 small businesses through education and mentorship. Nationally, the program has approximately 7,600 graduates that hail from every facet of business life.
“This has been an extraordinary experience,” Labovich said. “Being in a room with 39 highly accomplished entrepreneurs, and learning from experts on business growth, strategy, finances, and leadership have opened my eyes to the enormous impact my organization can have on the community. I found this to be one of the most rewarding professional development experiences in which I have ever participated.
What’s Does this Mean for You?
While the benefits have been tremendous for The Career Strategy Group—access to best-in-class training, opportunities and people—our participation is a win for our job seeking clients and companies as well. Here is what you can expect of us in the upcoming years:
We know that a job search can be a stressful, confusing and lonely experience. Job seekers are more successful when they are in a supportive, communal and collaborative environment.
We plan to reinvent The Career Strategy Group as a collaborative career think tank, with in-person events, workshops, lunch and learns and webinars. Our office will serve as a home base, a think tank of sorts, for those in career transition, enabling our clients to learn new job search skills, share best practices, and elevate their visibility within the DC community by networking with other professionals and executives.
While we have been supporting client globally, we are delighted to be focusing our efforts in 2019 and in upcoming years on increasing job success and satisfaction on our very own backyard–the DC Metro area!
